STRING THEORY 1 introduces the series’ signature technique: the physical imprint of string dragged, pressed and lifted across the surface to create black lines alive with gaps, smudges and stray fibres. These marks disrupt the crisp precision of earlier works, bringing a raw, tactile immediacy to the composition. Each imperfect edge becomes evidence of movement, pressure and the material behaviour of the string itself.
Set against a fresh white ground, the primary colours ignite within the segmented forms, their clarity heightened by the stark contrast. The result is a bright, energetic abstract painting that celebrates colour, gesture and the unexpected rhythms produced when structure meets chance. Designed to enliven even the smallest space, STRING THEORY 1 sets the tone for a series defined by vibrancy and material play.
