Abstraction as a style of painting where reality can be reseen in new forms and shapes. The appeal of working with comic book images is that this style is the clear placement of colour that develop into an image that becomes recognizable to the viewer much like other abstract pieces I work on.
The black floating frame mirrors the classical framing of panels within a comic book reinforcing the impression of this painting being a single frame from a much bigger story.
