REMNANT is a canvas filled with frustration and creative energy. Random splashes of colour spread across the canvas over a blue background.
As an artist staring at a blank canvas there are times where there is no clear story to, no clear plan for the next project just a desire to create. Paintings like this occasionally appear within my collection because of the key purpose they serve in unblocking the creative mind. Without a clear story to tell there is a pressure that cannot be released without letting the mind and body play.
At the end of each project, I save any unused paints in small jars which can be used as a base for mixing colour for future projects. It is these jars of colour that come into their own when producing these abstract works, so a careful eye may notice colours that can be seen in works produced prior to this one.
