OPTICS 2 is a hypnotic study in repetition, light and shifting perception. Built from a precise motif rendered in gold, silver and copper synthetic polymer paints, the work transforms as the viewer moves. Each metallic surface catches and redirects light differently, causing the cubes within the pattern to tilt, rotate or invert depending on the angle of observation. This constant optical fluctuation gives the painting a kinetic presence, as though the geometry is subtly reconfiguring itself in real time.
The disciplined repetition of the motif forces the eye to travel restlessly across the canvas, unable to settle without deliberate focus. This visual tension invites viewers to question their own perception—where the cubes begin, where they end, and which direction they appear to turn. The result is a mesmerising, light‑driven illusion that brings both sophistication and quiet dynamism to any contemporary home or office.
